“The whole world is full of things, and somebody has to find them.”

Woodland Art Adventures is a place for children and families to explore process art together. Process art is all about using your senses to create, this could be everything from marbling to building with clay to sewing. But process art is not about following set instructions to come home with a specific piece of art, it’s about using materials in an innovative way to create. Sometimes you may have an idea in mind, and other times the vision may emerge as you play. Our focus is on play and experimentation with art materials which for us include recycled objects and foraged art supplies.

If you’ve ever given a child an empty box and watched their imagination take over you’ll understand our purpose. A box can become anything: a spaceship, a duplicator, a gameboard, a racetrack, a diorama, the cardboard repurposed into a knight’s sword and helmet, the fibers twisted into a fairy treehouse, or maybe a marble run. Now just imagine if you added paint, and found objects from nature!

Artists should always come prepared to go outside for a nature walk. Please dress for the weather.
